There’s no better way than to kick off the summer driving list than with one of the most iconic driving songs ever (and possibly U2’s biggest hit to date). This song has the power to put you in a good mood regardless if you’re stuck in traffic on the way home or cruising down the lanes to the beach on a Saturday afternoon. Powerful.
9. Bryan Adams – Summer of ’69
We keep knocking those big summer tunes out of the park, but we all know and love Summer of ’69. We can all recollect singing that at a holiday park campsite, or listening to someone’s Dad rock out to it. Windows down, and music up. Bliss.
8. Stereophonics – Have A Nice Day
Do da doo do da doo. We’re all known for humming along to this one. An amazing driving song, and a lovely band, we will have a nice day – thanks!
7. Bob Marley – One Love
It’s time to mellow out now with the sweet sounds of Bob Marley. Nothing better than the wind in your hair and the sun on your face when you’re listening to this one.
6. Tracy Chapman – Fast Car
Although this song may have a few lyrics on the dark side, it doesn’t take away from the fact its brilliant. It may be a one hit wonder from Tracy Chapman, but her beautiful tone mixed with those soft guitar melodies make for sweet, sweet music!
5. Hanson – MMMbop
Just have a little look at their faces – Youth! Another catchy tune that you will find yourself humming for about a week after hearing it, but it sure does give us that summer feeling. We love it.
4. Nelly Furtardo – I’m Like A Bird
It’s summer and we would all love to be free as a bird, but the closest we can get is to be speeding down those lanes blasting out some Nelly Furtado. This is an absolute classic. It makes you want to spin around in circles with your arms out.
3. Toploader – Dancing In The Moonlight
This is one of those songs you’ll be playing as you drive home after a day spent with great company. A sweet summers evening whistling away as you create memories of a life time.
2. George Ezra – Budapest
George is new to the music scene this year. His European tour sold out in minutes, and he’s spending the summer playing all the festivals. You’ll find yourself singing away to this for the rest of the day.
